The Borgess 5k
I have not died. I was finally given the "all clear" about a month ago from my sports med doc to resume running. Like a maniac, I went out and ran a 5k yesterday with Jeff, the 'other' of the two fools. We finished dead last - virtually simultaneous finish. I'm a little sore, but not too bad at all. I've been in my Galloway book all day today reading about 'running for fat burning', actually 'training for the 5k', shoe selection, and so on. I set up a race calendar from mid-summer to mid-autumn of races that we might be interested it depending how are training is going.
So, although slow and definitely out of shape, I'm out of the gates, off and running. By the way, Jeff has lost 49 lbs. in the last 6 months or so - seriously heroic.

First of all, can you guess who this is?
Oh my goodness...I somehow stumpled on this from your flickr page (which is great, btw!) I was training w/my girlfriend for the Free Press half-marathon, but have put that plan on hold till next year. I won't be able to keep her pace, as she has run in several 10K races, etc. (her husband is a hard-core marathon runner). I was having foot problems, too (are we old, or what?) but mine were self-inflicted...I slammed my foot in my own car door & fractured it, because I am that big of a spaz!
So for now, I just run with my friend to lose the baby weight (he's 2, I think it's time! ha!)
So we'll see...are you doing the freep half-marathon? I'm so impressed!!
Good to hear that!
Keep running.
